Receiving a Juris Doctor from the Florida State College of Law in 1984, Gary served as a public defender in criminal trial cases for four years prior to going into private practice in the fields of probate, trust, guardianship and elder law in 1988.
Gary is an active member of the Clearwater Bar Association, the St. Petersburg Bar Association, the Guardian Association of Pinellas County, and the Island Estates Civic Association. Having served as an attorney in the Pinellas County area for some thirty years, Gary is an active member in good standing with the Florida Bar in its probate, trust, elder law and real property sections.
Robert C. Thompson, Jr. received a Bachelor in Business Administration from Stetson University in 1993 and his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law in 1999. Robert served as a prosecutor in criminal trial cases for three years before going into private practice. Since 2005, Robert’s practice has focused on issues affecting the elderly including estate planning and estate, trust and guardianship administration.
Robert is an active member in good standing with the Florida Bar and is a section member of the Florida Bar Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section. He is also a member of the Clearwater Bar Association and the Guardian Association of Pinellas County.
Cheryl has worked for the firm since 1995. A Florida registered Paralegal, Cheryl manages all matters regarding guardianships, preparation of pleadings and annual reports for filing with the Probate Court. She also assists with the documentation of Medicaid planning, advance directives and estate planning documents. She was educated at the Evangel University and brings over 20 years of experience to the table. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys the beautiful Florida weather and spending time with her family.
Kehia joined Thompson & Fernald in 2017 and handles probate and estate administration. She also assists with advance directives and estate planning documents. Kehia received her AS Degree in Paralegal Studies from St. Petersburg College in 2018. Prior to that she has over 30 years of experience in the area of guardianship. In her spare time, Kehia enjoys spending time with her family and pets, and cruising.
